BlackBerry seems to be cooking up a storm lately. The well-known Canadian company has been struggling to keep its brand alive in the competitive mobile market and Android seems to be chosen as the savior that the manufacturer desperately needs.
We have heard many rumors over the last months and BlackBerry’s own CEO John Chen has even stated that an adoption of a new OS is very possible, so long as it can be made secure enough by the company’s standards.
Things moved forward in the direction of adopting Google’s OS after a mysterious Android-powered slider was announced at MWC 2015. Now, it appears, BlackBerry might be closer to adopting Android than ever as the company recently registered two new domain names, related to mobile OS. These addresses are “AndroidSecured.net” and “AndroidSecured.com“, both of them purchased by BlackBerry Limited on July 7.
We can’t really predict what BlackBerry is planning or find any tangible connection between the two domains and the BlackBerry Venice Android phone, allegedly scheduled for a December launch. Whatever it is, Android will surely be somewhere in the mix.
